Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the EasyScan mobile app, compatible OBD-II adapters, and the related websites and services (together, the "Service"), provided by EasyScan ("EasyScan", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

EasyScan connects to your vehicle through an OBD-II adapter to read diagnostic information, such as trouble codes and live sensor data, and helps you understand it. Some features need an active subscription, a compatible adapter or an internet connection. Which features are available depends on your vehicle, its manufacturer and the adapter.

2. Your account

• You must give accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity on your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
• Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Safe use

• Some functions, such as clearing trouble codes or running service procedures, can change how your vehicle behaves. Use them only if you understand what they do, with the vehicle parked and, where needed, the engine off.
• Unplug the adapter or check its power use if the vehicle will be parked for a long time, because it may drain the battery.

4. Not professional advice

Diagnostic results, code descriptions and AI-generated explanations are for information only. They can be incomplete or wrong for your specific vehicle. They are not a replacement for an inspection by a qualified mechanic. You are responsible for any decision you make about repairing or driving your vehicle.

5. Subscriptions and payments

• Paid plans, their prices and what they include are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payments are handled by our payment provider. By paying, you also agree to that provider's terms.
• A subscription lasts for the period you paid for. We will tell you in the app how and when it renews or ends.
• Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable. If you think you were charged by mistake, contact us and we will review it.
• We may change prices for future periods. A change will not affect a period you have already paid for.

6. Adapters and other hardware

• An OBD-II adapter is needed to read data from your vehicle. Adapters may be bought from us or from another seller. If you buy from another seller, your purchase is with them.
• We support the adapters listed as compatible in the app. Other adapters may work only partly, or not at all.
• Your statutory rights as a consumer, including any legal warranty on hardware you buy from us, are not affected by these Terms.
• Install and use the adapter as its instructions say. Damage caused by misuse, or by leaving an adapter plugged in against its instructions, is not our responsibility.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service on a vehicle you do not own or have permission to access;
• use the Service for anything illegal, including tampering with emissions or safety systems where the law forbids it or changing odometer readings;
• copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, its data or its content, except where the law allows it;
• try to access other users' accounts or our systems without permission, or disrupt the Service;
• use bots or scrapers to collect data from the Service.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its software, databases, design, text and trademarks belong to EasyScan or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app for your own vehicles while you follow these Terms. Data read from your own vehicle belongs to you.

How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, such as sign-in, payment and hosting providers, and vehicle manufacturers' data. We are not responsible for their services, and they may have their own terms.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Service. If we remove a paid feature you have already paid for, we will offer a fair solution.

12. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. This includes any warranty that the Service is fit for a particular purpose, accurate, or compatible with every vehicle.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, EasyScan is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. This includes damage to your vehicle, repair costs, lost data or lost profits resulting from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as sections 4, 8, 12 and 13, continue to apply after your account ends.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Iraq. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts there, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
